100th Post=Pro Compression Socks Giveaway!!

It’s crazy that I’ve reached the 100th post milestone. Technically this is 101, but hey, I’m in the triple digits 🙂

So in celebration, I’m giving a away a pair of socks!

Cue memories of opening Christmas presents and being sad when they were socks.

These aren’t any random pair of socks though. These. Are. Awesome!

You might have heard of compression socks and the benefits of wearing them. They help increase blood flow in your legs, reduce swelling and inflammation, and are great for muscle recovery. I’ve been known to wear my sleeves under my pants during winter lol!

So I’ve tried the sleeve version of compression socks–these you slip them on over your feet so it hits around your ankle. (This is no easy feat by the way–sorry, couldn’t help myself. I’ll be here all week.)

My good friends at Pro Compression sent me the regular sock version to try out and I was so very excited.

Here I am sporting them at the track:

I’m not usually a bright color gal but I LOVE these. I like to think of them as Phoenix Suns orange (who didn’t make the playoffs by the way 😦 )

  1. I LOVE compression socks. I wish I had a full body compression suit some days! I usually wear them overnight after long races to recover. I also do a lot of Epsom salt, baking soda and apple cider vinegar baths to help sooth sore muscles.

  2. I keep seeing these more and more, but have never tried them. Do you really notice a difference?

My favorite way to recover is a glass of chocolate milk and a soak in the spa.

  3. I probably have the worst recovery that I could possibly have after an intense competition. I prop my legs up on the couch, drink in hand (usually a margarita or glass of wine), and try not to move too much. One of my goals this year is to do a better job and make more of an effort with recovery. I’m no spring chicken!

  4. I drink chocolate milk or beer, and then try to stay upright and walk around. I once ran a half and then got right in bed and couldn’t walk for two days…lesson learned.

  5. Congrats on reaching triple digits in blog entries!

How I like to recover a race or a run is drinking a bottle of Zico coconut water (a beer after a race), stretch, and take a hot shower.

  6. My favorite way to recover after a long run is with a Starbucks Iced Latte! I also like to roll out my achy right calf and stretch some!

  7. Congrats on the 100th post! I love my compression socks. Not sure if they make a difference while running, but after a long run they feel so good! I like to recover w/ a hot shower (even in the summer, I’m definitely not an ice bath kind of girl) and then, a delicious burrito.

  8. I typically come home, take a hot shower, throw on some compression socks and eat a big plate of eggs 🙂 Congrats on 100 posts!!

  9. Very cool! Congrats on 101! I will enter now!
I like to recover with a mixture of coconut water and chocolate almond milk. Oh, and tacos. I do have some compression socks that I will wear to sleep in when I’m training. Occasionally I will run in them too.

  11. I’ve never ran a race but to recover after any run, I usually fuel up on water and stretch before taking a shower to clear out my lungs.

  12. I recover from a run by stretching and wearing compression socks!!! I recently started to soak in a hot bath with epsom salt and wow! I can’t believe how great my legs felt the next day after long runs!

PS: I’ve actually been wanting another pair of compression socks! So PICK ME! 😀

  13. I like to take a shower (I’m a sweater!), drink some chocolate milk, then take a nap! I’d love these socks; I don’t have any compression socks and have heard marvelous things!

  14. I’ve run two marathons and it’s becoming a tradition to order a pizza all for myself after the race. When else can you eat an entire pizza guilt free? 🙂
